The Introspective Boy

The male adolescent identity explored through the Visual Arts.

Avon Old Farms School celebrates the unique creativity and productivity of the teenage boy with a special exhibit of sculpture, photographs, drawings and paintings at the Farmington Valley Art Center’s Drezner Visitors' Gallery. Work submitted will be juried by a special panel of local artists and arts professors including: Diana Delucia, author and food photographer; Jeremy Chandler, Assistant Professor Photography at Southern Connecticut State University; Peter Zallinger, Associate Professor of Drawing and Painting at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts and Rick Harden, Professor of Fine Arts at Manchester Community College.

The exhibit will be open from April 28- May 16, open Wednesday through Saturdays 10am-4pm or by appointment. A reception open to the public will be held on Friday May 6 from 6-8pm, at which time awards will be presented by the jury panel to selected works, with an additional reception on May 7 from 10:30-12pm, hosted by some of the participating student artists, coinciding with the FVAC Saturday Open Studios on.
